Our People

Robin & Brenda Walde

Robin and Brenda were both raised on their family farms (Kindersley & Mantario).  They were married in 1995 and made their first home 2 miles northeast of the original yard before building a new yard in 2005, 3 miles west of the original yard.  Together they built Rosana Farms and look forward to transitioning the operation to the next generation.

Devin Walde

Devin is the longest serving employee on the Rosana team, working alongside his Dad and Grandpa since he was old enough to walk.  He started to actively farm and produce crops in 2015 and  has a handle on all things involving grain movement, storage & maintenance.  You can find him in a semi in every season, whether that’s hauling to the elevator, the yard or out to the seeder.

Payton Walde

Payton is a U of S graduate, Bachelor of Science in Agriculture majoring in Agronomy.  She started to actively farm in 2013 and since has become a valued member of the team.  Her expertise is tech, agronomy and administration/accounting.  But she can be found behind the wheel of almost any piece of machinery during the growing season.

Derek Walde

Derek is a teacher in the SunWest School Division.  He started to actively farm in 2011 and likes to keep an active interest in the operation. He likes to find his way into a seeder and combine each year and keep up to date on the latest activities.

Brennan Ness

Brennan joined the team in 2010 and hasn’t looked back. He and his wife Katie (Robin’s niece) live on the original homestead where they raise their 2 kids, Cohen and Sylvie. He is one of our best operators, and our biggest morale booster.

Together Brennan & Katie grew their first crop in 2022!

Colt Beswitherick

Colt has been a part-time team member during harvest and then joined us full time in April of 2022.  He comes from ranching roots and knows the value of hard work.

Our History

1928

Abram and Helen Walde, who immigrated from southern Russia (now the Ukraine), bought a homestead south east of Kindersley. This homestead was developed and grew into a farming operation.

1960’s

Art Walde takes over the farming operation.

1974

Walde Farms was incorporated and in those early years Robin became a part of the farming operation. The farm has outgrown the original homestead but the yard is still a valuable part of the farming operation.

1995

Robin and Brenda Walde established a new farming corporation, Rosana Farms, named after the Rosana School District where Robin`s father, Art, attended school. The sign placed at the school site is only 1 mile east of Rosana Farms.

2005

A new yard is set up only 3 miles west of the original homestead.

Art and Sylvia Walde were the heart and soul of Walde Farms. Together they built a thriving ag business, that for a time included land in Montana. With the support of family and other colleagues they weathered many adversities due to downturns in the economy, instability in the markets, and unpredictable weather patterns.

Mom and Dad taught all of us to value the family farm, to have good business sense and to have a strong work ethic. Because they are no longer with us, we say “Thank you” for teaching us to be good farm stewards and for entrusting us to pass it on to future generations.
